  • Nostradamus forewarns that the city of Los Angeles may be targeted for a possible major terrorist attack

Full Report:

Several bipartisan congressional commissions recently briefed members of the new Obama administration regarding America’s continued vulnerability to possible terrorist assaults using nuclear or biological weapons. Of the two types of WMDs, the most dangerous by far is the latter. To produce even a small nuclear device requires significant amounts of fissionable materials which are extremely expensive and difficult to acquire, are dangerous to transport, and are easily detectable because of measurable radioactive leakage. Biological weapons on the other hand can be made with cheap ingredients that are readily obtainable through mail-order science warehouses, can be mixed together using free downloaded information off the Internet, and can be hidden and disguised against being detected by the most sophisticated air analyzers. The commissions agree that we might expect an attempted biological attack on American soil within the next five years.

The places where we are the most vulnerable are in our port cities. Even nearly a decade after 9/11 and the creation of Department of Homeland Security, government-sponsored investigations have determined that all our coastal harbor facilities are susceptible to potential terrorist infiltration and sabotage, the widespread effects of which might cause untold numbers of fatalities and could deliver a crippling blow to an already ailing national economy. Particularly in the larger ports, where millions of tons of cargo come in from a multitude of foreign countries on a daily basis, only about ten percent of all overseas freight actually gets inspected. National and state port authorities agree that the high cost, the major time consumption and limited number of trained personnel available are the reasons why trying to accomplish any more than this is very prohibitive.

One of the largest such shipping facilities in the world is the Port of Los Angeles, situated just 22 miles from downtown Los Angeles in southern California, part of Los Angeles County that is home to 10 million people. The Port covers 43 miles of harbor waterfront and 7,500 acres of unloading docks. It is the busiest container port in the United States, annually handling over 160 million metric tons of imported goods. Though it has its own police force and fleet of patrol and rescue ships, their best efforts fall far short of being able to maintain even an adequate surveillance of the Port’s entire commercial activities.

Most significantly, the Port of Los Angeles also sits on the edge of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which has a complex system of aqueducts and reservoirs that is the nation’s largest provider of treated drinking water. The District produces and distributes 1.5 billion gallons of purified water per day to the most heavily populated area of the southern part of the state.

If there was ever a primary candidate for a terrorest biological attack, then the port, city and water supplies of Los Angeles would be a major potentiality.

Over four centuries ago France’s most famous seer, Nostradamus, wrote three of his prophetic quatrains which may have described just such a catastrophic event, and offered numerous hints that Los Angeles region and its people could indeed be in serious danger. Here are the pertinent Nostradamian verses with their cryptics interpreted:

VERSE ONE. At the port of AGDE (anagram for A(N)GEL) three small fast ships (motor launches) will attempt to enter,
Carrying an infection, not of faith but rather pestilence (a biological weapon),
If they manage to pass the bridge unopposed, one million people will be carried away in death,
But if interrupted (stopped) at the bridge, resistance will cause only a third to be infected (300,000). Century VIII, Quatrain 21

VERSE TWO. Wearing disguises of color (uniforms) come the seven shaven heads (belonging to a religious sect), (or to Septentroinale/ America will come the shaven heads),
Supported by spies from diverse countries they will be scattered (throughout the city),
Wells and fountains (water reservoirs) targeted to be sprinkled with the poison,
At the port of GENNES (anagram for E(A)NGE(L)S), it (the biological weapon) will devour many. Century IV, Quatrain 66

VERSE THREE. Two who are beset by burning fervor (religious fanaticism, or fever caused by poisoning),
Will die thirsting for two cups of water (dehydration caused by poisoning),
The frontier (border) defiled with lime (burning toxic chemicals) by the old dreamer (drug user),
To those of GENEVE (anagram for (A)NGE(L) he will trace the source (of the terrorism) all the way back to NIRA (anagram for Iran). Century IV, Quatrain 59

The first key to deciphering what Nostradamus was describing is to look at the relevant geographic elements he gave in all three quatrains.

A preliminary surface reading of the prophet’s words suggests that they point to three separate land unrelated locations in the world. In Verse One, reference is made to a minor port on the French Mediterranean coast near Marseilles called Agde. Verse Two mentions a small municipality named Gennes, located in eastern France in the Department of Doub, that has a small port on the Loire river. Some commentators on the prophecies have suggested this may really be a syncope for the northern Italian city of Genoa, whose historic port was the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. And Verse Three appears to concentrate on Geneva, a prominent city in modern Switzerland, which serves as a port on the Lake of Geneva. How are all three of these related to one another?

Looking closer at other prophecies among Nostradamus’ writings, we find that in many instances the seer did not refer to geographic locations directly, but instead used place-names as clever anagrams in order to secretly focus attention elsewhere. In a literary work known to Nostradamus and entitled the Dictionnaire de Trevoux, the strict rules of medieval anagram writing were spelled out in detail. An anagram was meant to utilize all the same letters as given in the original word, only altered by having its letters shuffled around, with the exceptions that one or two letters could be added or dropped, and another letter or two could be exchanged for others, vowel for vowel and consonant for consonant.

What is highly significant is that all three place-names given in the trio of quatrains being studied here are acceptable anagrams for one word, ANGEL. In the contexts of what is described in every one of the verses, this specifically refers to the name of a port city.

In Verse Three, line one, reference is made to the future terrorists as being seven shaven heads. In the Old French, the word for seven is sept, which can mean either the number seven as interpreted, or it can be a syncope for Septentroinale, a geographic nomenclature that appears on several sixteenth century maps inscribed across North America where the United States now exists. The prophetic phrase could thus read, to America will come the shaven heads. Therefore, the port of ANGEL is linked by location with Septentroinale, or somewhere on the North American continent within the territory of the present United States.

In doing a search for such a location, two possibilities immediately come to the forefront. One of these is Port Angeles in Washington state on the Pacific Northwest coast. And the other is the Port of Los Angeles in southern California.

Within his poems, Nostradamus offered some intriguing descriptions of distinctive additional features. The ANGEL port he envisioned has a prominent bridge, and it is located near water reservoirs that if poisoned would seriously affect between 300,000 and one million people. Washington’s Port Angeles does not have a major bridge, possesses only local city reservoirs, and has a population of less than 20,000. The Main Channel of the Port of Los Angeles, on the other hand, is spanned by the Vincent Thomas Bridge, which is sometimes called the Golden Gate of southern California. Likewise the Port is neighbor to a major vital water district that supplies one of America’s most important urban centers with a population of over 10 million people. The Port of Los Angeles thus best fits all the criteria of Nostradamus’ prophecy.

If we combine the descriptive elements given in all three of the verses above, the seer’s scenario he foresaw for the coming attack has a very detailed potential story line. What emerges is this:

According to Verse Three, the initial phase of the plan will consist of some form of toxic chemical release or spill that will take place on or near the Mexican border not far to the south of the Port. Two of the terrorists who will be responsible for the spill will be allied with or will work through local drug traffickers. Nostradamus used the term old dreamers in other verses to designate those who in his day used hallucinogenic drugs. The purpose of the chemical release appears to be an attempt to draw police, rescue and emergency response personnel away from the Port area as a diversion from the main attack. But the diversion will backfire, the two instigators will be caught in their own toxic spill, and will die of extreme dehydration as a violent reaction to the chemicals used.

Verse Two, lines two and three, also describes another secondary force composed of a group coming from many foreign backgrounds who will be deployed throughout the Water District for receiving the poison and sprinkling it into the city’s wells and fountains, or drinking supply.

The main attack, however, will be initiated by seven terrorists who, while the main security forces for the Port are diverted elsewhere, will enter the Main Channel in three motor launches. The terrorists will be disguised wearing police or rescue uniforms, and their launches themselves may be stolen or disguised as Port security or rescue boats. They will proceed northward up the connecting river into the heart of Los Angeles with their cargo of a very potent biological weapon.

In Verse One, the prophet makes it very clear that the infection he warns against is not an ideology or religious belief, but is an actual pestilence or disease-producing substance. The wording Nostradamus utilizes suggests that the lethal agent will be dispersed both by air as well as by water, that the greatest resulting death toll will be caused by a combination of the two.

It is at this point in the beginning of the attack that the seer predicts the possibility of two different outcomes to take place. Verse One, lines three and four, indicates that the plot could be detected beforehand by local police and government authorities, who will stop the three launches before they pass under the Vincent Thomas Bridge. In this scenario, only the airborne phase of the biological attack will manage to be released. If, however, the plot is not uncovered or the evidence for it is ignored, and the launches move upriver and successfully rendezvous with their co-conspirators deeper inside the city, then their fatal cargo will be tragically disseminated throughout the Los Angeles water supply system. The latter possibility, the worst case scenario, the prophet portended could carry away in death as many as a million people, or one in ten of the citizens of Los Angeles. But if the attack is intercepted at the Bridge, then only a third of that number—300,000—will be infected by the airborne phase of the assault, which may or may not include fatalities to the same extent as will its water-borne aspects.

The question remains, who will be the terrorists? In his other prophecies, Nostradamus used such phrases as shaven heads, and those beset by burning fervor, to designate religious fanatics. In our modern context, today we would call these Islamic extremists. This identification holds true based on what is stated in the last line of Verse Three, where the seer traced the source of the future terrorist attack on Los Angeles as coming from NIRA. This is a perfect anagram for Iran, a nation in our present-day world that is a chief promoter of state-sponsored terrorism.

There is of course a third possible prophetic scenario, which is that none of this will ever have to happen. The purpose of prophecy is so that the future can be changed for the better. If we know that the potentiality exists for something tragic to occur, then we can prepare for it beginning now, in order to insure that the outcome of the foreseen event can be altered or does not have to manifest at all.

Similarly, if we can learn to anticipate ahead of time how to foil any possible form of terrorist attack, by knowing when and where and how it could take place, then forewarned is being forearmed.

Let us all hope that the third alternative is the one we choose to manifest.
