Will Nostradamus Return?

For the next five hundred years (counting from 1503, the year of his birth, or 1555, the year his Prophecies were first published—or until either 2003 or 2055) they will not be able to decipher these writings,
Created by he who was honored but not understood in his lifetime (Nostradamus himself),
Then at that time (in the 21st century) suddenly a great understanding he shall reveal when he returns to life,
For those of that century what new decipherment he offers will bring great satisfaction (when he is reborn in 2003 and “re-awakens” to his true identity in 2055).

The global wars will pass (ending in 1945), diseases ended and the world diminished, brought together by mass communications,

They shall travel safely flying through the air, through the heavens (space flight), on the sea and under the water (submarines),
But then new wars will be provoked again (the Quatrain Number is 63; added to 1945 brings us to 2008—this may be when we will see the beginnings of a major re-alignment of nations into armed camps, which will be the prelude to the World War which could follow).
A More Positive Alternate Future?

Before long all things will be set into a different order,

What if All Humanity Refused the Status Quo of Their Rulers?

World Leaders Changed Through Their Dreams

That which destruction and weapons of war could not accomplish,

All the Resources Exist for a True World Peace

For some the transformations toward peace will be very difficult,

A Global Political and Economic Transformation

Renewing the Humanity-Earth Connection

An abundance of all blessings shall the Earth again produce for humanity,

No more faith in what was, a burning fervor to change everything, people put upheavals behind.
America Has the Potential to Lead the Way to Global Peace

Walls shall be converted from brick to marble (indicative of increased prosperity),
Very great peace will come first from the Septentroinale (a designation for America on many sixteenth century maps) within a window of opportunity of fifty years (counting from the end of the Cold War, 1990 to 2040),
Then shall come joy to all humankind (the world), when the Water Pourer will be fully renewed (the Age of Aquarius dawns),
Good health, abundance of fruit, happiness, a time of milk and honey for everyone.
2013—The Advent of a Man of Peace?
Mars et le sceptre se trouvera conjoint,

Century VI, Quatrain 24
Mars and the scepter (Jupiter) conjoined,
In Cancer, by him all calamitous war will eventually be ended,
A new Leader will be anointed (born),
He will bring Peace to the Earth for a very long time.
Appearance (or birth) of a Man of Peace
Mars and Jupiter conjoined in Cancer:
July–August, 2013; April–May, 2038; June–July, 2049; August, 2060; August, 2073; April–May, 2085; June–July, 2096.
Very likely the “Man of Peace” prophesied here is the same as the “Great Teacher” described in later prophecies. The advent of an Avatar or Spiritual Teacher in the past has usually been accompanied by a significant astrological or calendar event—and his possible birth in 2013, at the dawn of the Sixth World Age according to the Maya Long Count prophecy cycle, would be true to form. A correlation period appears for the 2030’s, which might suggest the time-frame when the World Teacher will first make himself known publicly, when he reaches his early twenties. Othewise, the next correlation will not be until the 2090’s.
The Revelation That the Future Can be Changed

The great tapestry (or scroll) will be folded and sealed so as to show only,
By portions the greater part of future history (the Revelations, and other Books of Prophecy),
Though many will be chased by rulers out of realms because of their harsh warnings,
They will come to believe in the beautiful deed (the more positive future pathway).
The Power to Alter Time Itself

The Divine Word will bring inspiration, struck from heaven,

The Power to Re-direct Universal Energies

The Divine Word will be given substance,

And the ability to direct the energies of the Earth and the heavens.
The Key to be Found in the Center of the Soul

They shall be found at night in quiet contemplation,
Alone within themselves, sealed in the place of the oracle (the center of the soul),
The flickering flame (the golden light?) of the Spirit shall come to them from within,
By it, that which no one else will believe to be possible they will speak and make manifest.
Becoming a Divine Vehicle for Transformation
La verge en main mise au milieu de BRANCHES,

Century I, Quatrain 2
With pen in hand they shall write with the spirit of prophecy,
It shall baptize them from head to foot,
At first afraid, voice trembling, movement of the arms and hands (automatic writing),
The Divine splendor enters in, while the consciousness rests.
In several of his prophetic verses, Nostradamus forecast the very real possibility that the basic way our present world culture does things could change drastically, and that this will be accomplished by today’s collective humanity making a number of major about-faces in direction.
In Century II, Quatrain 10 the French seer predicted, “Those who hold to the old ways and hide behind masks of lofty power will be utterly changed. Few will be found who shall remain in leadership.” In Century VIII, Quatrain 4 (Duplicate), he further foresaw the “common people” of the world will finally get “tired of the words” of their own governments, and will refuse their incessant calls for war. In two more verses—II, 19 and IX, 66—Nostradamus envisioned instead, “A New Peace is possible…without defense of war,” that there can be “Peace, a Union, and changes” all over the planet, when “Estates, offices of power (are) done away with, the old world order (is turned) upside down,” and “Wars will cease, conflicts (will be) settled by civil processes and debates.” Again, in I, 5 and Presage 67, the prophet predicted, “Armies and their generals will be driven away, never to fight again,” when “There shall be reconnection, peace, love and concord everywhere,” and “High officials (will be) brought low, some high ones put to death because of their crimes.”
On a more fundamental level, Nostradamus likewise foresaw that humanity as a whole will throw out present-existing patterns of political, economic, religious and social organization. “Uninhabitalbe regions” will be ”settled and developed,” “acreage, houses, fields, towns occupied at will,” and the “common people of cities and provinces will gain by the changes.” There will be “no more faith in what was,” only “a burning desire to change everything.”
In effect, what the French seer may have been hinting at is the end of Western civilization as we know it, and that its demise will be one made by the choice of the people of the world acting together.
Taken as a whole, Nostradamus visualized the breakup of supernational and national governments, as well as all forms of large-scale economic, religious and social institutions, into much smaller units of power operating instead on a far more localized level by ordinary everyday people. Without major governments there can be no standing armies. Without mega-corporations there is less likely mega-waste of resources due to overproduction and consumerism. Without world-wide religious and social institutions there is not the propensity toward dogmatism and fanaticism. Rather, it is the individual and smaller collectives who through the more intimate workings of their local communities now take on the responsibilities of keeping the peace, fulfilling economic needs and providing their own spiritual and social sustenance.
What Nostradamus and other seers have predicted is really nothing new, because this appears to have happened before among previous civilizations. One good example is the Mayan Old Empire civilization which flourished in Central America up until the ninth century A.D. As archaeological excavations have revealed, for some reason the entire Mayan culture simply stopped and fell apart in a very short period of time. Pyramid and temple building came to a halt, government and religious texts ceased to be carved in stone, agricultural production ended, and all trade between the various city-states was suspended.
Mesoamerian historians have proposed a number of possible reasons for this sudden overall termination of activities—war, disease, climate changes, famine. While one or several of these may have been contributing factors, the overwhelming evidence points to another cause which was this: The Mayan common people became fed up with their entire civilization and simply left en masse. The stone masons dropped their tools, the farmers walked away from their fields, the traders abandoned their goods, and the everyday people turned away from their rulers and priests, never to listen to them again. The entire population walked back into the forests from which they had originally came and returned to a more meaningful way of life in smaller communities.
And this is where they still exist today. The modern Mayan Indigenous Peoples—those who once built magnificent pyramids and temples, who commanded armies and fought incessant wars among a dozen city-states, who developed an advanced form of art, architecture, writing, mathematics and astronomy—their descendants live and thrive in the present-day rainforests of the Yucatan. They still retain the rich wisdom and knowledge of their ancestors, but they have opted to successfully live a far simpler yet more satisfying lifestyle.
Our modern Western civilization has managed to sprawl across the entire world, and while it has brought great advances in all expressions of art, science and wealth, this has been accomplished at the premium cost of creating a far more complicated existence for the majority of humankind. Modern technology, rather than simplifying life, has made it increasingly more difficult to cope, even to survive. The steady rise of stress, anxiety, despair and confusion has resulted in a corresponding rise in physical and mental disorders world-wide among all societies everywhere. Political, economic, religious and social leaders, instead of trying to alleviate conditions, have added to the planetary stress levels by perpetuating more anxieties through constant threats of war, deprivation, ideologies and demands of adherence to dogmatic belief systems.
There is an inevitable breaking point coming. It came once for the Mayas, and it is going to happen to us. Either the people of the world will be overwhelmed by the mounting stresses of modern civilization and will be destroyed by them—or they will make the better choice which the Mayas and other civilizations before us did in ages past, with the collective decision made to walk away from it all and start over again.
Only this time it will not be a matter of walking back into a rainforest to escape. Western civilization and all of its excessive trappings exists everywhere. So it will be everywhere that all peoples will have to stop the growing insanity of multiplying complexity and make the necessary changes toward simplicity wherever they live. Old dependencies on large units of power will have to come to an end, and new responsibilities to nurture local politics, economics, religious and social re-patterning on a community level will become the new order of the day. Turmoil and chaos will undoubtedly ensue, and there will be many old leaders who will resist the coming transformations. But the real power in the world is among the masses of people who live and work and support the existing system. And if they refuse to go along with the status quo any further, then they will also have the power of choice to move in a different and more life-sustaining direction. As always, with knowledge comes responsibility, with responsibility comes choice, and with choice comes the ability to change the future for the better.
