Psychic Predictions of a Coming Impact
Something Washington seeress Jeane Dixon termed “literally earth-shattering” will occur when a natural catastrophe, an instrument of “Divine intervention” in the form of a “meteor” will cause great shifting of water on the surface of the planet. She later enlarged on this prophecy by stating that it would be a celestial object which she now identified as a comet. She wrote that “the Earth will be struck. Earthquakes and tidal waves will be the result of this tremendous collision which will take place in one of the great oceans. It will be one of the worst disasters in history.”
Similarly, the Californian seer, Criswell, predicted that an uninvited visitor will plunge into the planet, and that the target area will be in the center of the Indian Ocean. The impact, Criswell foresaw, will cause tremendous tidal waves which will sweep across east Africa, parts of Arabia, India, Southeast Asia, the East Indies and the western half of Australia. The effects will also be world-wide. Criswell predicted a major earthquake to destroy southern California only days within the time of the asteroid’s tragic arrival.
North Carolina shamanic teacher Page Bryant, channeling an entity named Albion, gave this prophecy in 1983: “The Earth will be struck again. It will occur in or around the year 2010. Remember this. Any such event can be changed by a change in consciousness or eased somewhat. It is most important that the consciousness and life that exists upon the Earth be as cooperative with the Earth in her orbital patterns and changes as possible. You can be cooperative by not taking and robbing her of resources. Yes, a whole environmental plan should be implemented, or otherwise the changes will be very difficult and could be disastrous.”
Clairvoyant Reverend Paul Solomon, in 1973, linked the coming of a celestial object close to the Earth with a pole shift of the planet:
“As there is the passing closeby, so will the crust of the Earth be attracted toward it, as it would be approaching. So the North Pole will point in the direction of its advance. Then, at its point nearest the Earth, so then will the pole point directly upward, and in the pasing away of its presence from the planet, so then would the poles shift again a third time toward the opposite direction. So that there will be three separate temperature changes in this area, making near to impossible the survival of any animal species or plants, either in this area or upon most of the surface of the planet.”
His prediction is remarkably similar to a Hopi prophecy which forebodes the same events:
“The Earth’s axis flip will mark the end of the Fourth World. It will be consummated after the appearance of a now invisible star rushing toward Earth from space. It will cause the world to rock to and fro. This axis shift will cause a great deal of the prophesied Earth Changes.”
Edgar Cayce, in 1934, foresaw: “There will be a shifting of the poles, so that where there have been those of a frigid or semitropical nature, it will become more tropical.”
Cayce also offered these words which suggest that, ultimately, it is the choice of both collective humanity and each individual as to whether or not we choose to be affected by the “movements within the heavens.” We are the ones who attract to ourselves through our attitudes and consciousness the instruments of our own planetary fate:
“The cause of these events, of course, are the movements about the earth; that is, internally—and the cosmic activity or influences of other planetary forces and stars and their relationships produce or bring about the activities of the elements of the earth. However, it is when the tendencies in the hearts and souls of men are such, that these upheavals may be brought about. For as often indicated through these channels, man is not ruled by the world, the earth, the environs about it, nor the planetary influences with the associations and activities. Rather, it is true that man brings order out of chaos by his compliance with Divine Law. Or by his disregard of the laws of Divine influence, man brings chaos and destructive forces into his experience. There are those conditions that in the activity of individuals, in line of thought and endeavor, oft keep many a city and many a land intact, through their application of the spiritual laws.”
In the 1970’s, California psychic Criswell claimed he dreamed of a day when people will speak to one another, and when they will talk about tomorrow, nothing will come out of their mouths. That same day, Criswell predicted, what he called a “black rainbow” will encircle the globe and will slowly suck away most of the air in the atmosphere. People everywhere will die who will be caught out in the streets. But the disaster will last only a short while, with survivors coming forth afterwards to rebuild a new life.
Alternate Prophecies—Was Edgar Cayce Misinterpreted?
Some of the most dramatic prophecies concerning coming “earth changes” were given by the “sleeping seer,“ Edgar Cayce. When Cayce died in 1945, he left behind a legacy to the world of over 14,000 readings he had made while in self-induced trance states, beginning in 1901. These readings, faithfully preserved in transcript form by the Association of Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, Virginia, include many prophecies about the future before us—a future, Cayce foresaw, that will be characterized by drastic changes for both America and the world.
Cayce’s outline of things to come was linked to a specific period of forty years he forecast when we will see the great earth upheavals to occur. In a reading given in January, 1934, he stated that the period of coming changes would take place “between ‘58 and ‘98.”
Now the assumption has always been made that what he had referred to were the years 1958 to 1998. This period has come and gone, and while it is true that during this time-frame the world did indeed witness a dramatic increase in both earthquakes and volcanic activity world-wide, nothing as catastrophic as what the seer foresaw in detail took place. Either Cayce was wrong—or his original forecast may have been misinterpreted. In his readings, he spoke his words out loud, and his statements were written down as dictation to his private secretary. Both in the original transcript and in later books and other publications, apostrophes were added to the numbers Cayce gave, as “between ’58 and ’98.”
Since no century designation was given, instead of 1958 and 1998, the seer could just as easily have meant the years 2058 and 2098—a time-frame for us yet future.
Looking at these two new dates, we can note some interesting correlations. If 2058 is the beginning of the forty-year period of earth changes, then this will happen only three years before the next appearance of Halley’s Comet—and there are a number of both psychics and researchers who believe the close approach of this incoming celestial object could be a possible trigger for increases in seismic activity world-wide.
If 2098 is to see the end of the period of earth upheavals, then this will coincide with another of Cayce’s visions. He had a dream in which he saw himself reincarnated into a future lifetime somewhere in Nebraska. In the vision the seer saw such cities as New York being rebuilt after being destroyed, while others were being placed under clear domes. The Pacific Ocean at that time will have already reached as far as western Nebraska. He prophesied:
“In 2100 A.D. the sea apparently covered all of the western part of the country. Water covered part of Alabama. Norfolk, Virginia became an immense seaport. New York had been destroyed either by war or an earthquake and was being rebuilt.”
The main work to be performed in that future age will be to recover records lost in earth changes which will be already past. Significantly, the year Cayce was given in his dream he was envisioning was 2100. This is only two years off from 2098, when the predicted period of earth changes will be ending.
Of also great significance is that these beginning and ending dates correlate with major astrological configurations. When Halley’s Comet comes again in 2061, it will be accompanied by major clusterings of planets in Gemini. Later, in August of 2098, all the planets except Uranus and Pluto will appear in Virgo, and in November, 2100 will be a gathering within 29 degrees of the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in Scorpio.
If we look now at Cayce’s earth changes period as going to take place between 2058 to 2098, here is what he forecast:
“The greater changes will be for the latter portion,” or the last half, from 2078 to 2098.
The “early portion”—2058 to 2078—”will see a change in the physical aspect of the west coast of America.”
When “there is a first breaking up of some conditions in the South Pacific,” there will also be risings and sinkings in the Mediterranean and greater activity by Mount Etna in Sicily. These will be signs that “then we may know it has begun”—the advent of the period of world upheavals, in 2058.
When there will be major eruptions in Mount Vesuvius in Italy and also Mount Pelee in the Caribbean isle of Martinique, “then within three months following, the southern coast of California, and the areas between Salt Lake and the southern portion of Nevada, may expect an inundation of earthquakes.”
“The earth will be broken up in the western portion of America.” Cayce named both Los Angeles and San Francisco to be destroyed in the general convulsion.
The East coast of New York, including New York City, “will in the main disappear”—though this was not to occur for another generation or so.
The southern part of the Carolinas and Georgia will also vanish into the Atlantic, but this, “will be much sooner.” Los Angles and San Francisco will be destroyed before New York City.
The “greater change” will be on “the North Atlantic seaboard”—“watch New York, Connecticut and the like.”
Cayce forewarned that someday the Great Lakes will begin draining into the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico, rather than through the St. Lawrence River to the Atlantic.
The indications are that this will not be a gradual occurrence. A large lateral movement of the earth in the northern Mississippi Valley, generated on a north-south line, could cause the waters of Lake Michigan to momentarily retreat northward, building up into a massive wall of water. Once the energy began to dissipate, the wall would turn into a gigantic tsunami, or inland tidal wave.
The wave would rush back southward, and keep going—first smashing into Chicago, then continuing on through Illinois, obliterating St. Louis and swelling the Mississippi river ten thousand fold, finally washing New Orleans into the Gulf. Either as a result of general subsidence in the Mississippi Valley, or more likely because of a new channel dug out by the tidal wave on its path to the Gulf, the Great Lakes will have a lower outlet to empty by, than the St. Lawrence.
The seer did list the places which would remain relatively safe—though the number is not very many. These will be parts of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois (presumably the western portion), southern and eastern Canada, and the area around Virginia Beach, Virginia, where Cayce wisely chose to live. Most of the West and Midwest, however, are to be “disturbed.”
In a dream Cayce saw himself reborn in the year 2100 in Nebraska. At that time, “the sea apparently covered all the western portion of the country, as the city where I lived”—in Nebraska—”was on the coast.”
A major sinking of the West and Midwest of the United States would mean the loss of such major grain and livestock producing areas as Kansas, western Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming. In a later reading, Cayce noted that, as a result of the coming geologic and subsequent climatic shifts, Montana and the Dakotas would eventually become the new “breadbaskets of the world,” with Livingston, Montana a major shipping port.
New lands will also begin rising in both the Atlantic and Pacific, off the American coasts—remnants of lost continents from former ages.
Dry land will likewise appear in the Caribbean, and off the island of Bimini in the Bahamas.
The entire continent of South America will be shaken from one end to the other. So violent will the earth movement be, that the submarine bed beneath the Drake Passage, situated between Tierra del Fuego and the Palmer Peninsula of Antarctica, will rise dramatically, displacing a tremendous volume of ocean, and creating a “strait of rushing waters.”
The “greater portion” of Japan will “go into the sea”—the sliding islands presumably filling the adjacent Japan and Kuril Trenches, which straddle the east coasts.
Northern Europe will be “changed in a twinkling of an eye.” In a second reading, given in August of 1941, Cayce stipulated that those places that were then the battlefields of the war, were destined to become “ocean, seas, and bays.” At that time, the conflict involved Britain, northern Germany, and parts of the Russian Ukraine.
“Open waters will appear in the northern portions of Greenland.” There will be “upheavals in the Arctic and Antarctic” coupled with the “eruption of volcanoes in the Torrid” or Equatorial regions. Immediately following, the Earth will shift its poles—causing tropical moss and fern to begin growing in what are today “frigid” and “semi-frigid” locations.
The one bright spot in Cayce’s outline of things to come is that the Earth shift will bring an end to further geologic transformations for both the world and for America. Beyond the year 2098, the globe will settle down to a peaceful co-existence with its human survivors, to rebuild a better life.
As a last but vital point that needs to be made, Cayce’s various earth changes prophecies do not necessarily have to be fulfilled with the suddenness and violence often implied by what his forecasts describe. For example, one of the seer’s readings warned that, “South America will be shaken from one end to the other.” The scenario of such a mega-quake has conjured up terrible visions of mass cataclysmic destruction. Yet on June 9, 1994 a 6.6 Richter earth movement took place below northern Bolivia that shook an area from the southern tip of Argentina to Toronto in Canada. Cayce’s prediciton was not only fulfilled, it was exceeded, as the tremor took in two continents instead of just one. But because the quake occurred at a depth of 395 miles below the surface, damage was kept relatively minor, centered in La Paz, and all that was really disturbed were several hundred needles jiggling up and down on seismographs over a very wide area.
Perhaps, if Cayce’s other prophecies of earth changes are yet to happen, they may manifest in the same subdued manner.
A Psychic Survey of Coming Planetary Changes
During the 1980’s, a survey of leading American and British psychics revealed a number of consistencies in the visions they were receiving concerning future earth changes and other events. Some of tomorrow’s headlines may include the following feature stories:
The Aleutian islands off Alaska will begin to disappear one by one.
Land will rise in the Bering Straits, eventually creating an Alaskan-Siberian land bridge.
Vancouver, British Columbia will be threatened by inundations.
A seaway will form through central Oregon stretching as far inland as Idaho.
A large chunk of California will break off into the ocean, with San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco to be severely affected, and the breaking point will occur roughly along a line from Eureka through San Bernardino to the Gulf of California.
The Colorado River will change its course, and the Imperial Valley in southern California will begin filling with water.
Large portions of Georgia, Alabama and Florida will be submerged.
A strong shock will hit New York City, the lower portion of Manhattan will disappear, and there will be sympathetic quakes damaging the East coast from Washington to Philadelphia.
The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River are to swell in size due to major faulting, with the first warning quakes to shake St. Louis and Memphis.
India will be struck by tidal waves and shocks, and it will lose its coastlines and southern tip, while new land will appear farther south in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
China’s land will fault, with large lakes forming just west of Beijing.
Indonesia’s many volcanoes will explode all at once.
Most of Hawaii will vanish as the result of undersea landslides.
New islands will rise off western South America, causing the entire continent to be rocked by massive shocks, while the southern portion will break away.
Japan will be shaken by earth movements and massive flooding, plus the Japan Current in the Pacific will alter course.
The Mediterranean region will suffer from both quakes and tidal waves.
Portions of the Irish and English coasts will sink away, with the waters of the Atlantic lapping at London‘s door.
Parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland are to break up, with Denmark becoming an island.
Massive shocks will strike Italy, Greece and Turkey.
Russia’s northeastern coast will sink away.
The Black Sea will expand as a result of a collapse of the Dardanelles, causing a subsidence and flooding in the Ukraine and Caucasus.
Tremors will also affect Syria, Iraq and Israel, and the western outlet of the Mediterranean shall be blocked by a rising around Gibraltar.
So severe will some of these disturbances be that the Earth’s axis will tip a degree or two.
New climates and geographies will then be established, and the psychics agree unanimously that afterwards, humankind will be given the opportunity of creating a new civilization that will not repeat the mistakes of the Present Age.
Visionary Aron Abrahamsen’s 1995 Prophecies
of World-wide Changes
Three major tidal waves will hit the east coast of India
In the Pacific a major tidal wave will devastate Japan and the Philippines
Tokyo and Kyoto will be struck by a 9.5 magnitude quake

Modern Perspectives—Threats from Outer Space
In our present day, through revolutionary new techniques in celestial observation, detection and photography, modern astronomers and astrophysicists have begun to identify two classes of celestial objects which could be potential terrestrial-bound impactors within the foreseeable future, called NEA’s (Near Earth Asteroids) and ECC’s (Earth-Crossing Comets).
In March, 1989, a half-mile wide asteroid designated 1989C came within 450,000 miles of us, and now appears to be in an orbit that brings it close to the Earth every 13 months. Astronomers predict that within the next few decades this asteroid is likely to strike the Earth, the Moon or Mars. In June and August of the same year, two other small asteroids—these measuring a few miles in diameter—also made close calls, and in January, 1991 and 800-foot chunk called 1991A BA brushed by us within 106,000 miles.
On December 20, 1993 yet another asteroid (1993KA2) streaked by, 30 feet in diameter and weighing an estimated 6,000 tons, flying within 90,000 miles, well within the Moon’s orbit. The problem was, astronomers did not discover it until after it had passed by. Asteroid 1994ES1 missed us by a similar margin in March, 1994, and in the following December asteroid 1994XM—only 12.5 feet in size—took the record, by coming within 6,500 miles of Earth.
On June 14, 2002, an asteroid measuring 320 feet across and designated as 2000MN passed within 75,000 miles of Earth. Though smaller than most asteroids, by traveling at a speed of 23,000 miles an hour if it had hit the planet it would have caused considerable damage.
The asteroid Phaeton has an eccentric orbit nearly 45 degrees off the ecliptic plane of the solar system, and swings to within 13 million miles of the Sun, closer than the orbit of the closest planet, Mercury. Presently it does not cross Earth’s orbit, but slow changes due to gravitational influences will bring Phaeton into Earth’s path within 250 years. Because it is 3 to 4 miles in diameter, its approach to our planet could be extremely dangerous, classifying it as an “extinction level event.”
One particular NEA that observers are watching is asteroid 2340 Hathor, which makes repeated close approaches to our world, and because most of its orbit lies within that of the Earth, it is often very difficult to observe very clearly. Close shaves are predicted for October 21, 2045; October 21, 2069; October 10, 2086; and October 22, 2130.
Another asteroid, named after the Egyptian serpent of the Underworld, Apophis, was initially scheduled to strike our planet in 2029, but new calculations predict it will miss by only a few thousand miles. A better chance of collision could occur instead on April 13, 2036.

In the ECC (Earth-Crossing Comet) category, a very serious future candidate for a planetary grazing will be Comet Finlay, due to pass by our planet on October 27, 2060, perhaps as close as 100,000 miles or within the Moon’s orbit.
Astrophysicist Brian Marsden has announced that a plotting of the future orbit of Comet Swift-Tuttle reveals the possibility of the celestial body hitting the Earth in the 22nd century. It is scheduled to pass the Sun from deep space on July 11, 2126, and on August 14 will come very close to our world. If there is only a minor irregularity in its long periodic path during the intervening century, then it could strike the planet dead-center, and with a force equivalent to 100 million megatons of TNT. Other estimates put it missing Earth by a mere 10 million miles, but will return in 3044 to make an even closer planetary pass. Swift-Tuttle is thought to be composed of a central core of ice and rock at least 6 miles wide.
Another cometary near approach will include Honda-Mrkos-Pajdusakova, on August 15, 2011 and again on February 11, 2017.
For one week in July, 1994, astronomers had a front row seat in watching a planetary body under attack, when two dozen pieces of the disintegrated Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 plunged into Jupiter with dramatic observable explosive results, equivalent to 40 million megatons of TNT going off in a chain reaction. As several scientists have warned, this was Earth’s “wake-up call” for a similar possible event to happen to us.
Of growing concern among some astrophysicists is the future destiny of that most famous occasional visitor to our solar system, Halley’s Comet. So far, its periodic orbit of 76 years has been regular and predictable over the past several millennia. In Halley’s next approach to the Sun, it will become detectable again in 2057, cross the orbit of Jupiter in mid-2060, but will not become really observable until after it crosses the orbit of Mars in May, 2061, seen in the morning sky. By the middle of June the Comet will be visible near the Pleiades and may begin to show its tail. On June 19 it will cross the orbit of the Earth. On July 28 the Sun, Comet and Earth will be situated along a line which is identical with the major axis of the Comet’s orbit. This will be the closest, most central or symmetrical perihelion passage in relation to the Earth for the past 2,500 years. The next day Halley’s will be closest to the Earth, less than half an AU (Astronomical Unit, equivalent to the distance from the Earth to the Sun). Starting in August the Comet will appear prominently in the evening sky. Thereafter it will swing around and again cross the Earth’s orbit on September 5 as it begins its slow exit from our system.
In its next rendez-vous following, Halley’s will be first detected in 2131, pass by the orbit of Jupiter in early 2133, Mars’ orbit in January, 2134, and will be 1 AU away from us on April 10. Then afterwards it will cross Earth’s orbit right in front of us before proceeding around the Sun and back out into the depths of space once more.
These orbits are calculated on the assumption that, during Halley’s long odyssey far out beyond Pluto, it will not encounter something else that could alter its trajectory. A rogue object from the Kuiper Belt or the Ooort Cloud, two sources of asteroidal-cometary debris that surround our solar system, might collide with the Comet and either send it into an unpredictable orbit, or break it up into pieces. This in fact may have already occurred. In 1990, three years after its last inner planetary passage around the Sun, astronomers observed Halley’s suddenly brighten and produce a momentary tail. This would not have taken place unless the Comet had been affected by a large gravitational force exerted upon it. Because at its greatest distances it is virtually invisible to us, we will not know for sure what Halley’s status or possible new orbit will be until it reappears. In the worst case scenario, it may have been altered just enough to project it far closer to the Earth than ever before.
Computer models which calculate the atmospheric shielding effects on incoming objects from the heavens indicate that rocky or iron asteroids 2,000 feet or more in diameter, and icy cometary bodies of 4,000 feet or more in size would be able to penetrate the atmosphere and hit the surface with forces of 10 to 100 megatons of TNT respectively. Most anything of less size will either burn up or explode before surface contact could be made.
The destructive energy potential of an object traveling Earthward at a speed of 8 miles a second is equivalent to 100 times the object’s volume in TNT. The one saving grace is that the density of our planetary atmosphere aids in obliterating most falling celectial objects through resistance by friction before they have a chance to hit the surface. A 150-foot asteroid, for example, has only a one percent chance of reaching the ground. It is the much larger bodies that pose the real danger, for they are capable of not only penetrating the air and impacting the Earth, but of imparting all their energy potential into an explosion of tremendous magnitude.
Modern projection models predict that an iron meteorite 3,000 feet in size hitting the ground, or a stony meteor of the same diameter producing an airburst, could destroy an area equivalent to Washington, Paris or Moscow, leaving a crater a mile wide. An iron or stony meteor impact or comet airburst with diameters of almost a mile could destroy large urban regions, like the greater New York, Tokyo or London metropolitan areas, leaving behind a crater two miles wide. A larger scale object, between 1 to 2 miles across, could destroy an entire nation like Mexico or India, leaving a 40-mile crater, and triggering global fires, volcanic eruptions and permanent changes in climate.
In a more generalized scenario, if an asteroid less than a mile across hit the Earth, it would produce an explosion equivalent to a 10,000 megaton nuclear detonation, with a blast wave traveling outward at 11 miles a second vaporizing everything in a 400-mile radius, and killing outright anywhere from 200 million to 1 billion people. If such an object hit Mexico City, the effects would reach as far as Kansas City. On impacting the ocean, the results would be even worse, with the shock waves taking the form of monster tsunamis which even 2,500 miles from the blast point would still be several hundred feet high, and could travel for hundreds of miles inland, leveling everything in their paths.
Depending on where and what type of celestial body hit the Earth would determine the amount and the constituents of dust-loading the planetary atmosphere might be subjected to. If an iron asteroid was involved, and it impacted on land, a large mass of melted materials from both the surface strata and the asteroid itself would plume upward, then fall over a wide area as superhot flaming meteorites. The widespread downward thermal radiation would set fire to all biomass (trees, plants, forests, crops) in their path, the resulting smoke adding that much more to the impact dust cloud cover. In the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary layer of 65 million years ago, from a meteor or cometary impact that wiped out the dinosaurs, the amount of charcoal found in the geologic strata indicates that as much as 90% of the global biomass was incinerated from just such an apocalyptic event.
If on the other hand a stony asteroid or icy comet hit the ground, much more microdust would be sent heavenward, equaling 10 to 20 times the volume of the impacting object itself. In the Chicxulub asteroid fall of 65 million years ago, an estimated 6,000 cubic miles of material was excavated out to form the crater and thrown skyward. The microdust would blanket the entire world in as little as one week, and last up to six months, creating a cover that could block out most sunlight and initiate a global winter, possibly leading to an Ice Age. Accompanying the dust might also be large quantities of nitrogen oxide, sulfuric acid and other gaseous pollutants which could create major global acid rains and do considerable damage to the ozone layer. Such a high altitude cover would be greatly accentuated if the celestial object hit one of the oceans, causing huge amounts of vaporized water to also cover the sky, producing mega-cyclones and electrical storms the likes of which are unimaginable.
Calculating the amount of dust, water vapor and smoke that would result from a half-mile object hitting the Earth, we find that the consequences would be a drop of world temperatures by about 15 degrees F lasting for about 15 days. A one-mile object could generate an 18 degree F drop over a couple of months, and a six-mile object might cause a 25 degree F fall-off extending over as much as six months.
The airblast that would result from an impact would lead to large-scale and global-wide pressure shock waves oscillating the entire atmosphere and ionosphere, and resulting in winds greater than the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded. This could cause the heating of the upper atmosphere and to high intensity electromagnetic disturbances. High-speed plasma plumes might interact with the geomagnetic field, initiating magnetic disturbances that would propagate up to the radiation belts, precipitating the trapped particles Earthward and generating significant radiation levels on the surface.
By far the worst-case scenerio would be if an asteroid or comet struck one of the world’s deep oceans full force. One computer simulation measured the effects of a mile-wide cometary body hitting an ocean with a depth of 2.5 miles. The explosion would instantly create a crater on the ocean floor almost 4.5 miles wide, and a water splash in the form of a hollow water cylinder that would rise to nearly 30 miles high, injecting huge amounts of pulverized rocky crust and water vapor into the upper atmosphere. Within the first 40 seconds after impact, the initial water shock wave would partially collapse and be reduced to 2 miles in height, yet already traveling 120 miles out from the impact point at a speed slightly less than that of sound.
Some researchers worry that the sudden displacement of such large volumes of water across thousands of miles of open ocean could effect the axis spin and polar stability of the Earth, like adding an off-balancing weight to a spinning top. The axis of maximum moment of inertia would be dragged away form the axis of rotation and a nutation would develop, with disastrous world-wide geodetic effects. Even more disastrous would be if a celestial object furrowed into the ocean at a more oblique angle. Then the energy of the mass would be dissipated by pushing a titanic amount of water ahead of it over a large surface area, creating a wave so high and so large in size as to defy imagination. The effect upon the axial forces of the Earth as a whole would be even more destabilizing.
As a tsunami wave reaches nearer to a coast with a shallower continental shelf, its speed slows down, but its height is increased by a factor of 10 to 40. Thus a deep oceanic wave of 100 feet might break ashore with a height of 1,000 to 4,000 feet. Such a wave could penetrate inland over a flat coastal plain of 15 to 20 miles. Since at least 30 percent of the population of the world’s 50 largest urban areas occupy coastal plains and harbors, it is easy to see that the threat of tsunamis generated by an oceanic impact would have major repercussions to a significant number of people across the planet.
Could We Protect Ourselves from
an Incoming Meteor or Comet?
Several astrophysical and geophysical research studies indicate that the one major aspect that could help deflect asteroids or comets from hitting the Earth would be if our planet had a much stronger geomagnetic field than it does at the present time. The geomagnetic field, with its strong bow front that travels ahead of the globe as it moves in its orbit, acts like a shield that “pushes” objects in its path out of the way. The problem is, the Earth’s field is now at its weakest strength in the last several thousand years, and is actually approaching the zero point. This means that the Earth today is at its most vulnerable state, with little or no protection against a meteoric or cometary assault. Can something be done to improve the situation?
Experiments conducted with psychic individuals directing their thoughts toward an electromagnet have demonstrated unexplained jumps in the magnetic gauss strength output 1,000 times above normal at moments of surrender after prolonged peak mental-psychic concentration. If one person, merely by projecting their thoughts, is able to produce significant momentary increases in magnetic strength, what effect could even a small portion of the population of the Earth have if they were to concentrate as one harmonious consciousness on increasing the geomagnetic field of the planet, revitalizing its protective shield against incoming celestial objects?
Several modern psychics who are sensitive to the present world condition say that there is still time for the global population to turn themselves around, and begin living in harmony among themselves and with the Earth. But the time is growing short. The psychics feel that a celestial impact event does not have to happen, and is not even necessary, if we ourselves exercise our collective free will, desire and empathy to transform our present thinking and feeling patterns.
What kind of future we wish to create is really up to us, the choices we make, and the actions and inactions we take to fulfill them.
