Throughout its long history, Britain has had its share of seers and visionaries who have all predicted the same coming disaster that may finally manifest in our not too distant future—a massive quake to decimate the London area, followed by a major subsidence and extensive flooding of the surrounding low-lying countryside of southern England.
As early as the fourth century A.D., Saint Hilarion (A.D. 291 - 371) predicted Britian’s future Empire and its eventual sinking:
“The great empire to come in the sea will be devastated by earthquake, storm and flood. This empire will suffer much misfortune from the sea. It will be divided into two islands and part of it will sink.”
Two centuries later, Saint Columbkille (A.D. 521 - 597) forewarned that neighboring Ireland will suffer a similar fate as Britain:
“Seven years before the Last Day, the sea shall submerge Eire (Ireland) in one inundation.”
A sixteenth century English seer, known as Friar Balthassar Mas, saw in a vision given to him an island overwhelmed by a deluge and swallowed by the sea. Soon after the terrible tragedy, the Friar wrote that he saw the waters begin to recede, little by little, and the upper portions of sunken towers and buildings appeared once again. A voice in his vision told him the island was his own native land.
The famed Seeress of York, Mother Shipton (Ursula Sonthiel, !488 - 1561) wrote these prophetic verses on London’s future sinking:
Triumph Death shall ride London through,
And men on tops of houses go (to avoid flood waters, or because the houses have collapsed?),
The time shall come when seas of blood (future warfare?),
Shall mingle with a greater flood (a physical submergence).
Another prophecy attributed to Mother Shipton foretold:
“A time shall happen when a ship shall sail up the Thames till it comes against London, and the master of the ship shall weep, and the mariners of the ship shall ask him why he weeps, since he has made so good a voyage? And he shall say, ‘Ah, what a goodly city this was, none in the world to compare with it, and now there is scarce left a home that can give us a drink for our money.’”
In more modern times, English psychic John Pendragon, who died in 1970, foresaw that London in the next century was to be partially submerged, and the lowlands of his native nation will be covered with water.
Madame Helena P. Blavatsky, mystic and psychic, wrote in 1882 that the British Isles would be the first among many victim nations to suffer from earth upheavals and vast flooding.
Likewise the seventeenth century Seeress of Prague prophesied that, “The land of the fog (England) will sink into the ocean.”
Visionary Alois Irlmaier in the nineteenth century foresaw, “Almost all of England and the European coast to Berlin will sink except for a few mountain peaks.”
American visionary Edgar Cayce (1877 - 1945) likewise portended, “Northern Europe (including Britain) shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye.”
Very significantly, there is a fault-like depression along the northern Thames bank which passes beneath the city of London along the Strand, Fleet Street and Cornhill. If enough pressure were exerted upon this depression by an earth movement, the bed could give way and buckle, causing great damage to city buildings along the river, including Westminster Abbey, Parliament and the Tower of London. Westminster Abbey was built on the site of a Roman temple dedicated to Apollo that was destroyed by an earthquake in A.D. 154.
France’s most renowned prophet, Nostradamus, in the sixteenth century offered nine of his quatrains that go into far greater detail concerning the natural disasters to strike London and southern Britain in the near future. Here is a translation of the relevant verses based on his original Old French writings. Only a few interpretive elements have been added, so that the verses speak for themselves:
Great Britain comprising that portion that is England,
Will come to be inundated very high with waters,
When the new league of Ausonia (Italy and other southern European nations) will be in conflict (with the rest of the European Union),
Which against them (the northern European nations) they will band together. Century III, Quatrain 70
The earth will tremble at Mortara (northern Italy),
When the Tin Islands (Britain) and St. George (patron saint of England) are half sunk (submerged),
Sleeping peace the war will awaken (conflict within the EU),
In the temple (the “heavenly temple of the sun in London”—the Temple of Apollo, destroyed by an earthquake in A.D. 154, on the site where Westminster Abbey now stands) at Easter cracks will rip open (the floor and walls). Century IX, Quatrain 31
When Venus and Neptune are conjoined (during the Easter season; will occur in March, 2026; April, 2027; March–April, 2029; April, 2032; March, 2034; and March–April, 2037; March, 2039),
Those who have vision will hide, those who shall fight will be troubled,
When there is a fleet in the Adriatic Sea (off Italy), cities along the Thames river will be severely affected,
At the sound of the great rumbling noise, a fourth of the population shall succumb while they sleep. Presage 12
When the Great One in rebellion at the Po river (northern Italy) will face evil at the hands of a French force (representing the EU),
There will be vain terror for the maritime Lion (England),
People will leave because of the sea in uncountable numbers,
But a quarter of a million will not escape. Century II, Quatrain 94
When from the (British) Isle its children forced to flee,
Two out of every seven will suffer (nearly one-quarter),
At that time only those who return to honoring the soil (growing their own food) will be supported by it,
Those of the shovel will take hope when for many others it will fade. Century VIII, Quatrain 64
When the lands of the (British) Isles will are reduced from five rivers to only one (because of being submerged),
At the time when they shall be ruled by the great Henry-C or Henry of the crescent Moon goddess (the Greek goddess Diana; Diana’s son, the future Henry IX),
Because of constant drizzles the air (wind) shall turn furious for him and his people,
Six survivors will be found, escaped by floating in bundles of flax tied together. Century VI, Quatrain 27
The chief of London (remnants of the government of Britain) will relocate to the realm of America (either the United States or Commonwealth Canada),
The Island of Scotland (Scotland would only become an island if England was submerged) will be troubled by frost (a great freezing of the ocean),
Both its Leader and the Rebel Leader (American) will face a terrible Antichrist (the Third Antichrist, a future equivalent of Napoleon and Hitler, the First and Second Antichrists according to Nostradamus),
Who will try to cause them to disagree with each other. Century X, Quatrain 66
The great maritime city (London) of the (Atlantic) Ocean,
Will be submerged, covered by crystalline walls of ice and snow (return of a new Ice Age?),
At the winter solstice (December 23rd) and the spring (equinox, March 23rd),
Will be tested by terrible winds (March to December, an expanded hurricane season). Century IX, Quatrain 48
The efforts of Aquilon (the Northern Eagle, America) will be great,
By them the port (London) on the (Atlantic) Ocean will be opened again,
The (United) Kingdom of the (British) Isle will be restored,
When London will have trembled (destroyed by a quake) now uncovered (re-emerging from the flood waters) sails (shipping, sea commerce) seen once more. Century II, Quatrain 68.
Looking at the Nostradamian verses as a whole, we find these prophetic details:
*The coming quake and inundation will occur at a time when there is a major split in the European Union, with open conflict between the northern and southern nations in the EU membership. Northern Italy will be the focal point of both land and sea confrontations.
*The natural disaster will take place on or near the Easter season, with a potential astrological window period between 2026 and 2039.
*London will be particularly hardest hit by the giant quake, with Westminster Abbey’s floors and walls ripped apart. Other cities along the Thames river will be as severely damaged. The temblor will also be felt over a far larger area, as far as northern Italy. Seismic shocks of this magnitude are not unknown to Europe—we may recall the extensive area and severity of damage caused by the Lisbon earthquake of 1755.
*The quake will be heard as a deafening rumbe, and ill take place at night when the majority of the British population is asleep. A quarter million people will die, while a quarter of the rest of the inhabitants will be forced to flee.
*The quake will trigger a major geological event—a sudden sinking, Atlantis-style, of a large portion of southern and central England, accompanied by a deluge (tsunami generated?) that will leave the entire region submerged for a considerable period of tme, including London.
*So severe will this catastrophe be that both the British government and royalty—including the future Henry IX—will temporarily relocate to America, either to the United States or to Commonwealth Canada. A significant number of the English population will also emigrate. Scotland, being of higher elevation and possessing a different geological structure, will remain as an island, but wil seek its independent sovereignty over its own surviving lands.
*Many Britons will remain resolute and try to continue living in pocket areas that are barely above water, but they will be forced to subsist on their own farming to feed themselves.
*The quake and flooding will be so extensive as to trigger a major climate shift, beinging far more severe weather caused by altered Atlantic air and sea currents. The survivors of sunken Britain will be subjected to greater rainfall, more violent storms and longer hurricane seasons, plus an eventual mini-Ice Age, with London temporarily covered by a sheet of glaciers.
The subsidence and flooding will not appear to be be permanent, and eventually the waters will recede. Through major financing and construction efforts offered by the United Ststes, London will once again be restored as a livable city, and its port facilities will one day be rebuilt and open to international shipping. The British government and royalty wil also return, and the nation will eventually be fully recovered.
