Getting Past the Season of the Long Knives—Prospects for Future Presidential Assassinations

(This Report was written in mid-November, 2008. Though events have now progressed into the beginnings of the Obama Presidency, certain important potential prophetic events being described here remain relevant in today's world.)
President George W. Bush has two months left in office. Barak Obama was just elected our new President and awaits his inauguration. The hard period of electoral campaigning is finally over, but now we enter an even more difficult time, one of grave concern for old and new leaders alike. Throughout history various cultures portrayed this as the season of the long knives, the concealed blade once having symbolized the preferred weapon for murder and revenge. What our nation may now be facing is the serious threat of assassination at the highest levels.
In other prophetic studies, I have discussed a strange phenomenon that has taken place right on schedule many times over the last two centuries, and still haunts us today. Paralleling a twenty-year recurring astrological conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in an Earth sign, since 1840 practically every one of our national leaders elected in a zero year—1840 (Harrison), 1860 (Lincoln), 1880 (Garfield), 1900 (McKinley), 1920 (Harding), 1940 (Roosevelt) and 1960 (Kennedy)—has either been assassinated or died in office of natural causes. According to probability studies, there is 1 chance in 2,500 that this cyclic occurrence is due only to coincidence. The one notable exception so far was Reagan, who barely survived an assassination attempt in 1981, but successfully lived out his two terms. The reason for this, astrologers explain, was that in 1980 Jupiter and Saturn met instead in an Air sign and not an Earth sign. However, in 2000 the twin giant planets came together once again in the Earth sign of Taurus - which means the continuing death cycle now hangs over the head of the President elected in that year, George W. Bush. And he still has two months to go. Since he appears to be in excellent physical health, the only way he could not outlive his term would be by assassination.
At the present moment, President Bush has the dubious distinction of being the most unpopular leader in American history, with an approval rating bottoming out in several polls at nearly 20 percent. His getting us involved in two costly and protracted wars overseas, and the overall failure of his domestic policies for the past eight years, has caused a slowly expanding ripple of anxiety and frustration in all sectors of American life. More recently, the near collapse of this country’s entire economic system that has generated massive financial bailouts, home foreclosures, business and bank failures, rising unemployment and a deepening recession bordering on depression, has greatly contributed to a growing sense of both despair and resentment in those regions that have been the most severely affected.
It is in just such a fearful atmosphere of looking for who is ultimately to blame, that plots could be potentially hatched against the holder of the highest office in the land. A very recent survey has found that, while sales in most goods are steadily falling because of the economic downturn, purchases of ammunition and firearms have jumped a dramatic 8 to 10 percent in only the past few weeks. Part of this is based on the uncertainty of the times. But another stimulus clearly comes from a collective anger and desperation, a feeling of being unable to do anything about what is happening. When a few decide to find a solution through taking up weapons, then the situation quickly becomes dangerous, especially for those in positions of power.
I offer here a modern translation of one of the sixteenth century French seer’s prophetic quatrains that appears to describe both present and future events. Its translation, without any interpretations, is as follows:
Mabus will soon succumb,
For people and animals a horrible defeat and death,
Then suddenly a swift vengeance arrives,
A multitude of hands reaching out, thirsty, famished, when one will see the
coursing comet. Century II, Quatrain 62.
The chief element of the prophecy here is the identification of the proper name Mabus in the first line, which turns out to be a clever anagram. According to the sixteenth century work, Dictionnaire de Trevoux—which initially appeared during Nostradamus’ lifetime and was used by him as a reference book for his writings—to properly turn someone’s name into an anagram puzzle, it was necessary to utilize all the letters, only scrambled up. However, one was also allowed to either add or subtract one letter, or substitute one vowel for another, as well as exchange only a single letter for another of similar appearance. The trick was to create another name that had other hidden meanings, reflecting on the character or background of the person whose name was being transposed.
Based on these established rules for Renaissance anagram writing, in the verse here Mabus works out to be a perfect cryptic for Bush. The extra letter is the a, and the m was recognized as a legitimate replacement for an h, which in the Old French script are both of the same general shape.
On a deeper level of interpretation, however, the same letters used can also create B M USA. In medieval numerology, B represents 2, in Roman numerals M has the value of 1,000, while USA is the recognized equivalent for modern America (in Nostradamus‘ day, navigational maps were already identifying the northen portion of the Western Hemisphere as America). Thus all the letters together form 2000 USA, which point to the year of Bush’s first election and his place of origin.
The rest of the first line can be translated as will soon succumb, which I interpret as referring to Bush’s short appearance on the national and world political scene for only eight years. But a stricter translation of the original Old French can also be rendered, then (he) will soon die, (following) there will come, indicating not a transitional leaving of office but rather the possibility of sudden death. The language suggests this could happen either before or immediately after Bush’s departure from the Presidency.
The last phrase of line one, (following) there will come, is directly connected with the events of the second line, which in their context are understood to take place a good while after Bush’s exit from power, but will be a direct result of his rulership: For both people and animals a horrible defeat, with the last word having the additional connotations of death, demise, murder, extinction.
The implications are that the failed policies of the Bush administration, very specifically its attempts to ignore and even deny the growing environmental problems of global warming and climate change, are going to have serious disastrous repercussions over the next ten to twenty years. Nostradamus forewarned that—as a result of almost a decade of delaying taking any action, and our even adding to the problem through not adequately curtailing our pollution output—we may witness in the next generation not only a significant loss of human life in this country and around the world, but also the major extinctions of important animal species, including those that are presently our mainstay food sources.
In another prophetic verse, designated by Nostradamus as Century X, Quatrain 99, the French seer portended the potential disappearance of the wolf, lion, the entire bovine family (cattle, oxen, dairy cows, water buffalo), all members of the horse family, as well as all deer and other wildlife. Adding to this catastrophe could also be the total extinction of what the prophet called the sweet grains—corn, wheat, barley and rice.
Lines three and four indicate what could follow for the next succeeding generation farther in the future: Then all of a sudden a swift vengeance arrives, A multitude of hands reaching out, thirsty, famished, when one will see the coursing comet, or when the comet will run in the sky.
If we continue in our unbridled abuse of the planetary environment, it will certainly one day result in a major world-wide climatic reaction during which Nature will exact its vengeance against humankind. This will take the form of mega-storms, dramatic tidal surges, prolonged temperature extremes causing droughts and floodings, and the permanent submergence of all coastal regions due to the melting of the ice caps and ocean waters steadily rising.
The combined blows of the general loss of crops everywhere due to world-wide weather damage, coupled with the extinction of several vital food sources, will inevitably lead to massive starvation. Nostradamus graphically visualized this as a multitude of hands reaching out, with most of the global population thirsting for potable water supplies and famished because of little if any food available anywhere. In still other prognostications, the prophet glimpsed the stark possibility of a severe global famine lasting nearly a century and a half, with a loss of one-third to one-half of all humankind.
When could these disastrous events begin? The French seer hinted at a potential time-frame when he foresaw—as a foreboding sign of global starvation being imminent—that one will see the comet coursing through the sky. Some commentators of the Nostradamian prophecies believe the celestial object in question may be Halley’s comet, due to next approach the Earth in 2061 and 2062. Is it only a coincidence that the designated Century and Quatrain number for this verse is II,62—possibly pointing to the year 2062?
There may be another contributing factor to this slippery slide down the slope into a dark future. Just after the third Presidential debate, in the middle of the night I was awakened by the sudden thought that there may be another prophecy embedded in the above verse. Nostradamus often peppered his predictions with hidden messages pointing to the possibilities of alternative time-lines. It took little effort to realize that the name Mabus could also be an anagram for Obama. By this re-configuration, in the French the vowels o and u are considered interchangeable, and the s is an allowable replacement for the second a. The initial part of line one could thus read: Obama then will soon die.
In this alternate prophetic scenario, the global disasters that could eventually follow will not be the result of President Obama’s coming political decisions—instead the implications are that he may never live long enough to make the right decisions or implement them. As his wide spectrum of supporters who enthusiastically voted him into office firmly believe, Obama is the right person at this moment in history to significantly reverse the present degradation of the planet and turn around the threat of global warming. But the sudden and tragic premature loss of his leadership would deny us his efforts at transforming the environment for the better, which will be necessary if we are to completely change the course of the future.
While the election of the first African-American to become President by a majority of both white and black voters was an important sign that this nation has finally overcome its long history of prejudice and bigotry dating all the way back to the era of slavery, there still exists in certain quarters an undercurrent of racial hatred stubbornly held onto by old supremist groups. Particularly during the recent campaigning, Obama was the target of a never-ending series of slanders and veiled threats that, even though the election is over and done with, now still smolders among those hate groups who cannot abide the possibility of a black man about to enter the White House. Their likely motivation at this critical point in time is to prevent that from happening.
The tragedy if they ever manage to carry out their threats will not only be to cut short the chance for someone destined for greatness to truly be allowed to change the direction of this country onto a better course, but will also have even more disastrous consequences for the planet and the rest of humanity over the next half a century.
In this present time, it also means that the American public would be robbed of a central focalizing personality around which to rally their support and concentrate their combined efforts in solving the mess this nation has been left with. Bruce Kuklick, a professor of history at the University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia, made this noteworthy post-election observation:
Obama is an empty vessel into which the American people can be expected to pour their inexhaustible supply of hope—in just the same way they did (with Roosevelt) in 1932 (at the beginning of the Great Depression).
But what would happen if that needed “vessel” was grievously lost?
The one saving grace is that the future is not fixed. Like so many other prophets of old, Nostradamus offered his prophecies so as to give each future generation he was addressing the chance to change the direction of history. And this process begins first by changing ourselves. When we make the deliberate attempt to alter our own consciousness for the better, and interlink it with others of the same mind and spirit, we likewise have the power to alter time itself.
The manifestation of the future is conditional upon our state of consciousness at the present moment, and what choices we make or do not make. A positive prophecy is meant to be self-fulfilling. A negative prophecy that is completely fulfilled is a prophecy that has failed to change those involved. By choosing to change ourselves, we change the course of things to come. With knowledge comes responsibility. With responsibility comes choice. And with choice comes the future of our own making.
Most significantly, we have reached a point in modern history, with our newfound ability to electronically communicate with the entire world in the same instant, that the collective desires of all humankind can now also be coalesced together into a single positive global consciousness and then manifested into whatever future we wish to create.
Furthermore, as we continue to evolve together into becoming a collective one mind and one heart, we are given the potent ability to actively transform the consciousness of others, by opening communications within their own minds and hearts through meditation and the dream state. Nostradamus, in Century I, Quatrain 97, gave this important revelation:
That which destruction and weapons cannot ever hope to accomplish,
Nor the diplomatic tongue in countless meetings could ever dissuade,
Instead in sleep, in a dream, they will be reached by those who meditate,
They will come to realize that the true enemy of humanity is aggression
exercised against others and the spilling of blood.
If our central hope is to stop a season of the long knives from happening, then our immediate line of defense is to take all physical precautions in order to make sure our national leaders are thoroughly protected from harm. But that is only preventing the symptoms of the problem from becoming a reality. Getting at the root cause will be to transmute the long-standing hatred itself that exists in the inner natures of those who threaten the taking of life to begin with. And that will need to involve the combined efforts of all those who have developed the special ability to join together into a single harmonious consciousness and open an interfacing line of transmission on the inner levels, through collective meditation or group dreaming.
The goal will be to offer a continuous unending stream of life-affirming messages of peace, understanding and reconciliation, as well as the basic truth that all forms of aggression and violence are unproductive and pointless. Projecting constant positive energies where they are needed into the collective unconsciousness of everyone—including even ourselves—is like shining a light beam into the darkness. It fully exposes and reveals for what it is the hidden ugliness of hatred that still lurks in the deepest recesses of our inner being, no matter how large or small. This also allows for the opportunity to examine the true nature of hatred, transmute its negativity into a positive expression, and finally let it go.
And every time such a release can happen, negative future patterns also vanish, and time itself is changed into a more positive potentiality.
By such means, we can manifest nothing less than that future we have collectively created, and can thus fulfill all our best hopes and desires in the present moment here and now. We then will be entering together into a new kind of reality, one by which we are already living today in the future of our dreams.
