The New Daily World Meditation—Actively Participating in Changing the Future
Report Topics:
- We have the ability, through collective meditation, of changing what can happen in the world
Full Report:
Since December 31, 1986 there has been a powerful project underway called the World Meditation Day. At midnight, while others are in the middle of the general revelry of celebrating the end of the old year and the coming hopes and promises for the New Year ahead, another global group of people take a few moments to quiet themselves and go into a meditative state. Their purpose is to combine and focus together all the released positive energy around the planet, and channel along with it the collective spirit of peace and harmony for all of humanity and for the Earth.
For each World Meditation event, some people have been practicing a formal meditation discipline, especially if they are part of an Eastern belief system. Others, who may be of a Western religious faith, have offered a prayer for world peace. Still others, who are not of any particular persuasion, have simply stopped for a minute or two and sent out a positive thought or wish for global harmony as a gift to all the planet.
In every case, the central idea is for everyone, in their own fashion that is most comfortable for them, to focus and concentrate on a collective vision of hope for the present and for the future, hold it for a brief period of time, then release it and let it go.
While many different religious, metaphysical and spiritual groups around the globe have sponsored their own world meditations, a significant group of individuals have maintained the original World Meditation Day vigil, and continue it to the present time.
However, over the past few years there has developed two forms of the World Meditation, both having to do with timing. Some participants have done their projection work every December 31 when it is 12 noon in London, on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). It is at that moment that the entire globe is on the same calendar day. Others have performed their meditations when 12 midnight takes place in their own time zone, thus providing a continuous stream of energy around the world in a full twenty-four hour period.
It is now time to take this process to the next step. Rather than performing the energy projection only once a year, let us now begin to synchronize our meditative activities and positive prayer projections every day. And like what the World Meditation Day has developed into, the new daily global experience will also consist of two parts.
The Double World Meditation will have two levels of participation, and meditators can choose to play their role in either one or the other or both. The first meditation time is to be coordinated once again to occur all at the same moment around the globe. That moment is to be every day at precisely 12 noon GMT in London, when all global time zones are in the same calendar day.
At that moment, other major cities and locations in other time zones will be in the following hours:
12 Noon - London, Lisbon, Rabat, Dakar, Ascension Island
1 PM - Stockholm, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Algiers, N'Djamena
2 PM - Helsinki, Warsaw, Athens, Jerusalem, Cairo, Cape Town
3 PM - Moscow, Baghdad, Mecca, Nairobi, Tehran (add 30 minutes)
4 PM - Chelyabinsk, Kabul (add 30 minutes)
5 PM - Omsk, Alma Aty, Karachi, New Delhi (add 30 minutes)
6 PM - Bangladesh, Rangoon (add 30 minutes)
7 PM - Norilsk, Irkutsk, Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta
8 PM - Yakutsk, Ulaan Baatar, Beijing, Lhasa, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Perth
9 PM - Seoul, Tokyo, Darwin (add 30 minutes)
10 PM - Magadan, Guam, Sydney
11 PM - Nauru (add 30 minutes), Norfolk Island (add 30 minutes)
12 Midnight - Anadyr, Marshall Islands, Auckland, Wellington
1 AM - Midway Island, Tonga
2 AM - Aleutian Islands, Honolulu, Cook Islands (add 30 minutes), Tuamatu, Tahiti
3 AM - Nome, Anchorage, Juneau, Marquesas Islands (add 30 minutes)
4 AM - Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Rapa Nui, Pitcairn (add 30 minutes)

7 AM - Montreal, New York, Washington D.C., Miami, Panama City, Quito, Lima
8 AM - Thule, Halifax, Bermuda, Caracas, La Paz
9 AM - Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires
10 AM - Scoresbysund
11 AM - Reykjavik, Azores Islands, Cape Verde Islands
The overall effect is to create a single Unified Pulse once every 24 hours that daily feeds humanity and the planet with harmonious energy.
The second level of participation is to enter into the global meditation or prayer experience whenever it is both 9 AM and 9 PM in your time zone (adjusting for local time differences and for Daylight Savings Time or its equivalent). Since it is always 9 AM or 9 PM somewhere on the planet and in opposite longitudes, this will create a Continuous Ring of energy encircling the Earth once every 24 hours.
Between the Pulse and the Ring energy projections, we have an important collective opportunity to supply positive harmonious and peaceful energies on a continuous basis. The once-a-year projections have been doing one level of good for humanity and for the world. Now let us see what can happen if we supply ourselves and the planet with ongoing positive energies every day. What might we accomplish then?
Several years ago there was a news story about a small religious community of nuns located in an isolated rural area of the Midwest whose major task was to take turns in performing a continuous round-the-clock healing prayer vigil for the world and for all people everywhere. They had faithfully performed this service for many years. A skeptical newscaster, who came to visit the community and report on its unusual activities, asked if the nuns really thought if all their efforts were accomplishing anything. With the myriad of serious troubles and problems existing around the globe, how could they believe that what they were doing was making much difference? The nuns answered by saying that they often wondered what would happen if they simply stopped their prayers. What would the world be like then?
